Material overview

A glycol for formulation and production.

Diethylene glycol (DEG) is a high-boiling, hygroscopic liquid used in resin manufacture and industrial formulations. Applications include selected solvents, plasticizers, coatings, adhesives and formulated fluids.

Typical applications

  • Dyes, inks, adhesives and specialized coatings
  • Plasticizers and polymer formulations
  • Selected brake fluids and industrial antifreeze formulations

Specification selection depends on the intended application and process requirements.

Role in production

01 / Solvent and formulation use

A component in compatible industrial formulations and coating systems.

02 / Chemical intermediate

Used in the manufacture of suitable plasticizers and resin products.

03 / Industrial fluid formulation

An ingredient in selected finished fluid formulations; suitability is specification-dependent.
