Material overview

Toughness for everyday products.

HIPS combines polystyrene with rubber to improve impact resistance. It is used in molded parts and extruded sheet, with performance depending on the selected grade and processing conditions.

Typical applications

  • Consumer electronics and automotive parts
  • Prototyping and thermoformed sheets
  • Refrigerator liners and appliance parts
  • Rigid packaging and trays

Grade selection depends on the intended application and required properties.

Processing methods

01 / Extrusion

Producing sheet for thermoforming and other continuous forms.

02 / Injection molding

Forming housings, appliance parts and household articles.

03 / Thermoforming

Shaping previously extruded sheet into liners, trays and packaging.
